Institute of Health and Nursing Sciences

Vision

The vision of the IGP is to promote the academic development of the nursing profession through innovative and scientifically grounded study programmes. We shape research and teaching through interdisciplinary approaches to continuously enhance the quality and impact of our programmes.

A key element of our strategy is to strengthen the transfer of knowledge between research and practice. We achieve this through close collaboration with regional, national and international partners, as well as by building a strong network that connects universities, healthcare institutions, and key stakeholders in the healthcare sector.

Through these initiatives, we advance the development of health and nursing sciences and prepare professionals to meet the challenges of tomorrow with competence and innovation.

Aims

The IGP aims to foster innovative connections between academic research and professional practice in the health professions. Our identity is grounded in scientific excellence, strong practical orientation, and active engagement with key societal stakeholders. We promote interdisciplinary research in health and nursing sciences, with a particular focus on societal challenges, healthcare services research, and health promotion and prevention. Our commitment to academic depth and quality is reflected in national and international publications, projects supported through external funding, and targeted support for doctoral studies.

Through innovative degree programmes – such as the Bachelor's degree in Nursing for students without prior vocational training and the new Bachelor's programme in Health and Nursing – we are shaping a future-oriented academic education. With part-time study formats, Master's programmes and practice-oriented events such as professional conferences and graduate days, we ensure a strong link between academia and professional practice. We also maintain close collaborations with regional and national partners from politics, practice, and industry. We actively contribute our research findings to society through publications, professional events, and advisory services for institutions and decision-makers.
