Your first days on campus

The lectures in the summer semester 2021 will start on 15 March 2021.
In the summer semester 2021, there will be no central introductory event in attendance due to hygiene regulations to contain the Corona virus. However, the faculties will welcome the new students in decentralised introductory events.
Your first few days as a student will be very interesting - our new students will gain lots of new impressions and be given lots of information over the course of the first week.

Health & Safety Information
Health & Safety Information
Health & safety precautions can save lives.
A health & safety briefing will be held in your first days at the University.
The ongoing, still critical situation caused by coronavirus means that the general safety training for all first semester and newly enrolled students has been centralised and will again be offered and undertaken in the form of Webex events at the end of the semester break and the start of the summer semester 2021 at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences.
Compulsory
The health & safety briefings are compulsory, as they contain necessary information needed e.g. before you work in the labs.
This is also compulsory for students who have taken part in other health & safet briefings, either at work or at other universities.
The online training session takes approx. 30 minutes. You can use the chat function to ask questions which will be answered at the end of the session. After the training session, you will be sent a link to a questionnaire, which you then have to complete in full (don’t forget your name and student ID number!) and submit.
Dates
The training sessions will be held as Webex events. You can participate on one of the three dates listed below. Please click on the appropriate link to take part.
It is a good idea to enter the meeting 20 minutes before it starts so you can sort out any technical problems which may occur.

- Am I going to manage ok in my studies? Am I going to find new friends?
- Help! I can't find a place to live! Do I have enough money for this?
What to do when…? The Student Advice Centre can support you from Day 1 in all general and personal questions. Advice is given in strict confidence.

How to find your room
The rooms at Esslingen University are numbered according to the following system:
Example: S 1.204
S/F/G = The letter tells you which campus
(S = Esslingen City Centre Campus, F= Esslingen Hilltop Campus, Flandernstrasse, G = Goeppingen Campus)
The number before the point
tells you the building number
The numbers after the point tell you the room number:
the first number denotes the floor within the building.
If there is a minus sign (-1) before the first digit, the room is in the basement.
Thus, in our example, S 1.204 is located
on the City Centre Campus
in building 1
on the 2nd floor
and has the room number 204.
