Social Management (M.A.)

Part-Time Studies

Studies of future needs indicate that employers engaged in the social care sector have a considerable and greatly increasing demand for staff with business knowledge. The social management degree programme aims to respond to the increasing demands for business qualifications by institutions and service providers working in the social care sector.

This degree is a collaborative programme between Esslingen University of Applied Sciences and the Paritätische Akademien Süd and Berlin. It is intended as a part-time postgraduate degree programme.

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

The course equips students to apply economic approaches and ways of thinking in the social care sector and provides them with an academic qualification based on specialist, methodological, social and personal competences. On completing the programme, you are able to take responsibility for business-related tasks and management functions in all areas of the social care sector.

TUITION FEES

The tuition fees amount to €8,460. This covers all the costs for semester fees, coursework materials, online seminars, examination fees, expert opinions, Master thesis, etc.

SPECIAL FEATURES OF THE PROGRAMME

This part-time Master’s degree is divided into four phases of face-to-face teaching per semester, flexible periods of independent study and media-based seminars. In the first four semesters, the units with face-to-face teaching are always held from Thursday to Saturday. In this context, great importance is attached to reflecting on practical experiences and learning new methods of working. Two modules are taught per semester. For each module, topical specialist literature for the integrated independent study is provided. Four media-based seminars use a specially designed online learning platform for their teaching and communication.
