Pathways to University

If you are planning to study in Germany, you often have a lot of questions to answer and a lot of things to organise. First get an overview and plan enough time to take care of everything.

Find support and advice

The Student Counselling Service (Zentrale Studienberatung) offers information and counselling for students and people who would like to study.  We are also happy to advise you in English. Counselling is free of charge. You can get help and advice from us if you have any questions:

  • On orientation, study options and choosing a course of study
  • On what you need to study in Germany, i.e. the requirements for admission to a German-language Bachelor's or Master's degree programme at the Hochschule Esslingen
  • For all other questions about studying and everyday life, for example about financing, housing, and other general and personal topics
  • During the study programme, the counselling team is available to help with questions and difficulties

The Bildungsberatung Garantiefonds Hochschule (GF-H) advises and supports young immigrants who want to start or continue an academic career in Germany.

International students can also obtain information and advice from the Welcome Service Centre of the Stuttgart economic hub.
