Erich Schindler is Professor of Automotive Engineering. He holds a

diploma degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of

Karlsruhe, Germany.

His professional career began in 1981 in the Daimler-Benz research

department. Firstly he was involved in the building of new vehicle

simulation models and later changed to a developmental department

where he was responsible for testing and development of stability


In 1995 he was responsible for the first application of ESP (Electonic

Stability Program) for the S-Class before introduction into market.

Since 1997 he has been a Professor at the UAS Esslingen. He is

Academic Director of the Automotive Systems Master program and

head of the vehicle testing laboratory.

He also serves as a technical trainer to OEM's and suppliers in the fields

of vehicle dynamics and has published a textbook about vehicle dynamics.
