Resource Efficiency in Mechanical Engineering (M.Sc.)

Applications for this degree programme must be submitted online via the application portal for Master programmes at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences. Students may commence this degree programme in the summer semester only. Applications for the summer semester must have been received by 15 January.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

As set out in the statutes governing the selection procedure of Esslingen University of Applied Sciences for the “Resource Efficiency in Mechanical Engineering” Master programme.

The formal requirement is a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a comparable discipline.
Admission restrictions: 30 programme places
 
All applicants must prove they have gained a minimum number of (ECTS) Credit Points (CP) or completed an equivalent workload from the Bachelor degree programme in the following subjects:

• Proof of the successful completion of an appropriate university degree programme including details of the average grade obtained (certified copy of the certificate is required only when enrolling)
• Diploma Supplement. Alternatively, a copy of the curriculum and examination plan on which it is based or
• Module description (of the Bachelor’s degree obtained) with an Internet address, where possible (This section does not apply to graduates with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from Esslingen University of Applied Sciences.)
• Form - application for admission to the “Resource efficiency in mechanical engineering” Master programme.

• Applicants who are submitting their application but have not yet received their degree certificate for their Bachelor’s degree: Transcript of Records, which may not have been issued more than four weeks before the application deadline.

Applicants may be granted provisional admission on the basis of these documents. Note: The provisional admission can be revoked when the overall grade stated on the degree certificate is worse than the provisional overall grade calculated. If this means places on the programme then become available, a process may be implemented whereby applicants who were not initially considered move up the list.

Applicants with a degree from a foreign university

Esslingen University of Applied Sciences requires a university degree gained at a foreign university to be recognised by the Center for International Students at Constance University of Applied Sciences (Studienkolleg Konstanz).

This Master programme focuses on “Resource Efficiency in Mechanical Engineering” and teaches you about procedures and technologies which can be used to enable the products of the future to fulfil their function with less material and lower energy consumption. As a graduate with this specialist knowledge, you can undertake development projects which are optimised to meet the targets of sustainability and resource conservation as part of your regular work.

Graduates with this qualification are in demand by companies engaged in general mechanical engineering, custom machine engineering, the automobile industry and its suppliers, in mechanical and thermal process engineering, and the engineering and service sector.

On completion of your Master programme, you are qualified to do your doctorate at a university.
