Study Program Applied Computer Science (M. Sc.)

The prerequisite for the Master's program in Applied Computer Science is a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology. The Master's program is strongly research-oriented. During the first two semesters, two research projects are carried out, followed by a scientific master thesis. The master's program has the academic degree of Master of Science (M.Sc.).

The Master's program in Applied Computer Science is subdivided into the following specializations

  • Autonomous Systems,
  • Data Science,
  • IT Security or
  • an individually chosen specialization.

The specialization Autonomous Systems deals with the core topics of how technical systems can autonomously find their way around and act in an unknown environment. The specialization Data Science focuses on the areas of artificial intelligence, data mining and data analytics. In the IT Security specialization, students acquire knowledge about software and networks that are secure against cyber attacks. A mix of all three specializations can be chosen in the indivdual degree.

The Master's program provides advanced theoretical and scientific knowledge and thus optimally prepares students for jobs in development, pre-development and research in the field of computer science and information technology. This Master's degree prepares students for the job market of the future and also opens the way to a doctorate.
