Cooperation Possibilities for Schools

Pupils are the Students of Tomorrow!

Contact with regional schools is important to us. The Department of Information Technology regularly organizes taster lectures for students and visits schools and educational institutions for information events. Students gain insights into studying information technology. They get orientation for the right choice of studies and profession.

Career Orientation Project for Schoolgirls

Every year on a Thursday at the end of March, beginning of April, Girls' Day takes place all over Germany. On this day, schoolgirls can get a taste of the jobs requiring training and courses of study in technology, IT, crafts and natural sciences in which women are less represented.

At the Faculty of Information Technology, female students can experience what the work of an engineer in the field of information technology can look like. Professors and students present information technology and report on their experiences. Digital image processing and the production of a flashing light circuit give the girls their first insights and allow them to gain their own experience with a lot of fun.

The next Girls' Day will take place on 27 April 2023.

Programme and registration can be found centrally at Girls' Day

Model project Girls' Digital Camps

The Girls' Digital Camp is a project sponsored by the Ministry of Wirtschaft, Arbeit und Wohnungsbau Baden-Württemberg and run by the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences. The Girls' Digital Camp offers regular courses to schoolgirls to gain first experience in the field of information technology. The courses offered include trial courses on Java programming and app programming with Android Studio. The courses are structured in such a way that no previous knowledge is required. A visit to the laboratory facilities of the Faculty of Information Technology as well as excursions to companies round off the overall impression and provide an insight into later professional practice.
