International Start-up Exchange in Esslingen

In November, GründES! hosted the Italian start-up team Clearchain from the University of Pisa here in Esslingen at the University of Applied Sciences – as part of the start-up exchange program in the open incubation track of the Start for Future (SFF) in which GründES! participates.

About the start-up Clearchain

Clearchain is an exciting upcoming start-up team seeking to provide innovative agricultural product solutions in a digital framework – a blockchain-based register for companies to safely track their products.

The start-up team from the University of Pisa decided to come to GründES!/Esslingen University due to the start-up centre’s coaches’ industry experience and the university’s strong engineering and informatics discipline. During the time in Esslingen, the team developed their prototype at GründES! creativity lab “MakerSpacES!” in collaboration with local faculty professors in the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rainer Keller, and the Faculty of Mechanical and System Engineering, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Walter Czarnetzki. Moreover, they tested and validated their concept in the German market with the guidance of GründES!. Clearchain will seek to launch its start-up by next year.

About SFF – Start For Future Alliance

SFF alliance comprises more than 20 universities and university-linked incubators EU-wide. GründES! forms a part of these 20 university-linked incubators. SFF open incubation track is a cross-university program with three phases that enables synergies between the partners combining and materializing the knowledge, creativity, and assets to promote systemic innovation. It closes the gap between the academy and business creation. Moreover, the SFF universities form an academy to establish teach-the-teacher programs and expert and mentor integration, applying smart specialization of their ecosystem, which allows the open incubation program to scale. Thematically, SFF focuses on sustainable mobility, health, circular economy, and food.
