Due to the restrictions of the Corona pandemic, there are currently no on-campus events at Esslingen University. As the sports facililties at the Hilltop campus are being used for teaching purposes and for examinations, it will not be possible to open the sports halls or have on-campus sports in the Hilltop campus until 30 September 2020 inclusive.
Esslingen University is working on a concept to enable sports classes to resume, in accordance with all regulations and to whatever degree possible.
The University Sports Team would like to thank you for your understanding and patience. We hope that sports will soon be possible again at the University, and that this contribution to our physical health and the opportunity to engage in social contact will soon be enabled.
As a student at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences, you can take part in the University’s sports programme without prior experience and without registering – free of charge. You can find an overview of all training times in the weekly plan.
The sports hall and gym are located in Esslingen, in Flandernstrassse 101. The doors leading to the carpark building are open between 6:30 – 22:00. Football and basketball courts are to be found on the roof of the Flandernstrasse carpark – use them to practise your kicking and basketball skills. On the Flandernstrasse Campus, there is also a weights room open for daily, independent use. To comply with insurance regulations, all users of the weights room have to take a one-hour introductory course (always Mondays) and training is only allowed in groups of at least two people.
If you join a volleyball, football or basketball team at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences, you can pit your skills against teams from other universities through the German Association of Universities. We let you know about the dates for competitions and events on the sports notice boards and on our website.
