Traditionally in Esslingen, a welcome ceremony is held for all incoming students on their first day of classes at the University. During this ceremony, the new students receive important information and learn about the curriculum and extra-curricular activities in Esslingen. As this event is not possible this year, due to the Corona pandemic, this website is here to help you orient yourself in your first weeks of study.

The lectures in the summer semester 2021 will start on 15 March 2021.
In the summer semester 2021, there will be no central introductory event in attendance due to hygiene regulations to contain the Corona virus. However, the faculties will welcome the new students in decentralised introductory events.
The Faculties welcome their Incoming Students
The faculty welcomes the first-semester students of all degree programmes of the new Faculty of Science, Energy and Building Services (NG) on Monday, 15 March 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in an online Webex conference.
On Monday, 15 March at 11:30 a.m., another Webex event will be held for each of the degree programmes, in which the programme directors will go into more detail about the programme and the events in the first week.
For these two Webex meetings, the first-semester students will receive an invitation by e-mail in advance.
The dates of the introductory events of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering will be announced shortly.
The Faculty of Mechanical and Systems Engineering welcomes its new students digitally in a WebEx meeting.
- Mechanical Engineering (MBB): Monday, 15 March, 2021, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m., online meeting via WebEx
- Resource Efficiency in Mechanical Engineering (RMM): Monday, 15 March, 2021, 09:30 - 11:00 a.m., online event via WebEx
On Monday, 15 March 2021, there will be an online information event via Webex for new students of the Faculty of Mobility and Technology from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Online induction days via Webex are planned for first-semester students of the Faculty of Social Work, Education and Nursing Sciences on the following days:
- on Thursday 11 March 2021 and on
- on Friday, 12 March 2021

In the Faculty of Management and Technology, the first-year students of the Bachelor's degree programmes International Industrial Management (TBB) and Industrial Management/Automobile Industry (TAB) are welcomed by the programme director and the deputy dean in the personal Webex rooms:
- TAB degree programme: 09:45 to 10:30 a.m. with Prof. Dr. Dorothee Brauner
- Course of studies TBB: 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. with Prof. Dr. Oliver Dürr
- 11 a.m. to approx. 1 p.m.: BW Faculty and Consulting Group Esslingen
- The link to the room will be provided by the programme coordinator during the welcome.
The programme coordinators welcome the students of the study programmes Engineering Management, Smart Factory - Industry 4.0 and Mechatronics on Monday, 15 March at 1.30 p.m.:

There is a welcome week (3 days via Webex) for students of the Engineering Management programme, which is organised by the Association of German Industrial Engineers in coordination with the faculty.

As a personal maeeting and exchange on our annual "Market of Opportunities" is not possible this year, we are hosting a "Virtual Market of Opportunities." Please do not hesistate to get into contact with these institutions for any questions you may have.
Studies rely on organization, orientation, and research. The following central institutions support Esslingen students in all areas of study organization. Please do not hesitate to make use of these free offers, to get into contact with them, get information and support in organizing your studies.
Students are able to get to know each other and take part in many extra-curricular activities, projects and groups.

Welcome to university! The Student Advice Centre invites you to an online event which includes information about the degree programmes and gives you the opportunity to meet and get to know each other.
It is certainly not easy being a new student in these times of online teaching and learning, and facing the challenges of starting out at university, finding your way around and getting to know the other students. The event will provide you with lots of advice and information to help you start out on your degree programme. You will also have the opportunity to get to know other students in an informal atmosphere and to make some initial contacts at the university. The team in the Student Advice Centre is looking forward to meeting you!
