INEM regularly organises colloquia on sustainable mobility which afford participants the opportunity to exchange ideas.
To communicate the current state of research to the public, and to make industry aware of future technologies, the Institute of Sustainable Energy Technology and Mobility at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences undertakes outreach work for industry and also for the public at large. InDie 500 is a competition for small and ultra-light electric vehicles which focuses on creative and innovative vehicle concepts with commercial potential which do not require type approval. Teams from educational and training institutions, such as universities, vocational schools, training centres and grammar schools, can apply to take part in the competition.
