Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (M.Eng.)

General information

Esslingen University of Applied Sciences added a further degree programme to its portfolio in the winter semester 2020/2021 - the cutting-edge field of hydrogen and fuel cell technology. This part-time Master’s programme is based in the Faculty of Mechanical and Systems Engineering. The Master of Science in Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology is a collaborative project from the University Federation SouthWest Germany HfSW. Esslingen is responsible for the academic content, and the Graduate Campus Aalen University of Applied Sciences is responsible for organisational issues.

Hydrogen and fuel cell technology is a field of present and future importance whose goal is to develop CO2-neutral energy systems. Aspects such as drives, energy storage and converter systems and how they interrelate are important elements of concepts for sustainable mobility. The programme incorporates a range of development methods and simulation tools to prepare you for the daily routine in your chosen field of work. The programme is aimed at professional engineers and those with a first degree in a technical subject, for example mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automotive engineering and related disciplines.

The programme is offered once a year starting in September; the application deadline is 15 July of that year. It takes four semesters (2 years) to complete and awards 90 ECTS Credits.
