MechatronicsCom (B.Eng.) - degree programme with integrated practical experience

MechatronicsCom (B.Eng.) - degree programme with integrated practical experience

The MechatronicsCom programme is a fusion of university study and practical industrial experience. It was developed in conjunction with industrial partners and is now being implemented in a great many companies such as Bosch, BMW, Siemens, Mahle, TTS-Tooltechnik, Tesat and WMF.

Unlike students on a conventional degree programme, those enrolled in the MechatronicsCom programme receive financial support and continue to be employed by a company.

Be proactive - get in touch with us and your Personnel Department and ask about this innovative way to obtain a degree.

Numerous companies have signed up to the MechatronicsCom collaboration model - and some have adopted their own particular name for it: BMW (Speed Up - BMW’s Bachelor programme), Siemens, Mahle ("MahleFix”), for example.

Information on admission requirements

To be admitted to the MechatronicsCom programme, applicants must have a university entrance qualification (Abitur, Fachhochschulreife or equivalent) and have been accepted by a partner company.

Depending on your company, you will take one of the three degree programmes offered by the faculty, all of which are taught on the Göppingen Campus:

  • Automation Systems and Production Informatics
  • Electrical engineering
  • Mechatronics

Degree programme with integrated practical experience (MechatronicsCom)

The MechatronicsCom programmes are open to anyone who holds a restricted university entrance qualification (equivalent to German Fachhochschulreife). They are backed by companies which offer a programme with integrated practical experience at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences in Göppingen and provide financial support to students as they study. Craftsmen and craftswomen who are already employed by companies receive further education and training, and school leavers can benefit as well (e.g. BMW/SpeedUp model).

  •  Craftsmen and women with a university entrance qualification
  •  School leavers with a restricted university entrance qualification (equivalent to German Fachabitur)
  •  German Abitur
