Who can apply?

Lecturers and adminstrative staff from European Universities and from Partner Universities outside Europe. Applicants who offer a lecture or a keynote presentation are preferentially admitted.

The full BIP "Teamwork & Collaboration in an University Context" will be held in English.

We don't charge any fee. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the participants (or by an ERASMUS scholarship if applicable).

We highly recommend to reserve accommodation not too late as hotels in our region are often fully booked. You can choose a hotel either in Stuttgart or in one of the other towns. For your comfort you should choose a hotel close to a railway station. Stuttgart and Esslingen are located very central. You need only one hotel because all universities are readily accessible by public transort.

Presentations and Workshops

Presentation and Workshops

During the on-site period at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences, we will offer lectures and workshops given by the BIP participants and by professors of Esslingen University.

The participants are asked to submit their suggestions for lectures and impulse presentations in the course of the online application.

You have three options

  • simply to follow the lectures and presentations
  • to give a lecture as part of the "Studium Generale" (90 min) - see below
  • to give an Impulse Presentation, which will be followed by a workshop (20 min) - see below

Lectures as part oft the "Studium Generale" (90 min)

We will offer your lecture as part the "Studium Generale". Studium Generale (sometimes also called contextual studies, general studies, fundamental studies or universal studies) are mostly all non-compulsory, public courses at a university. In terms of the humanistic educational heritage, they embody the mission of the universities to promote comprehensive general education.  The Studium generale is focused on promoting both interdisciplinary dialogue and networking, especially between science and humanities. The heart of the program is a series of comprehensive talks, panel discussions, and lectures with national and international guests who join local scholars in discussing up-to-date research in their respective fields. All events are public.

Keynote presentations

Your keynote presentation should deal with the topic of "Teamwork & collaboration in a university context". The presentation can be about an international project, about ways of cooperation between faculties and the International Office or about how to work together within a team. The topic is very broad and we are open to suggestions from the participants.
