It has been 4 months already now in Germany, which is slowly becoming my second home. Days are passing by fast, but it wasn’t always like this. At the start, it felt overwhelming. From culture, language to food choices, everything was different, but after a bit it started falling into place just like pieces of a puzzle. Everything is making sense slowly and gradually.
Meeting so many international people, getting to know their culture was the best thing I got to experience. The Graduate School organized many excursions at the beginning of the semester. From visiting the tallest church (Ulm Münster), the historic side of Nuremberg, to the punting boat ride in Tübingen and the beautiful Bodensee, excursions were perfect. Vineyards, the castle, the Neckar River, and the medieval Christmas market makes Esslingen a mesmerizing town. The campus Flandernstraße is comparatively at an elevated terrain, which offers a great view of Esslingen town. I am glad all our lectures are held at the Flandernstraße campus.
I am grateful that I left my comfort zone and came to Esslingen because when you leave your comfort zone, you grow. The last months have taught me a lot and made me stronger. I am sure these experiences will stay with me for the rest of my life and help me become a better person. Lastly, I am grateful for the friendships that I have made, the support provided by the university and the independent, calm life here.
