Here are Alejandro’s thoughts about his time in Esslingen.
Q - How did you become interested in the DDM program?
I was looking up for Master's Degrees in the official Website of the DAAD and I found it. It was the one which I was more interested in because the program description suited very well what I was looking for.
Q - What was the best activity you took part in during the DDM program?
The visits to the companies in which we could see the practice applied from the theory. The final project which gives the opportunity to make a small self-research before starting the master thesis.
Q - How did the lectures and labs of the DDM program have an impact on your career?
I got to see devices, machines and technologies I've never seen and didn't know they existed.
Q - What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Apart from the wage ;) the opportunity to develop myself in the professional environment and the support I receive for that.
Q - Are you still friends with anybody you met in Esslingen?
Absolutely! The friends I made there are some of the most amazing people I've ever met and now they are an important part of my life. We supported and helped each other in search of master thesis and jobs afterwards.
Q - Do you have a favorite or funny story about your time in Esslingen?
Funny anecdotes came up all the time. Whenever we made fun of the professors (let's be honest, who doesn't?) and of ourselves as well. That just made the lectures and study times, as well as interpersonal relationships easier.
Q - What advice would you give to students who aspire to follow a similar career path and join the DDM program?
I would highly recommend making other career-focused activities outside the program and making as much contacts as possible.
Q - How did the DDM program improve your life?
It helped me to discover new technologies, processes, materials, etc very useful and essential for my career, and it taught me how some things are done and handled in Germany/Europe.
Me ayudó a descubrir nuevas tecnologías, procesos, materiales, etc que son esenciales para el desarrollo de mi vida profesional. También me ayudo a descubrir cómo se hacen y se manejan algunas cosas en Alemania y Europa.
