Innovation and a bright future

When you like to think in systems and are looking for a challenging university course with excellent career prospects, then mechatronics is just the thing for you. The foundation courses will teach you the basics of the three main disciplines: mechanical engineering, electronics and information technology, while the core courses enable you to specialise in one of three very popular degree programmes. Apart from studying subjects such as electro-mobility, digitisation of industry, regenerative energies or medical engineering, you will acquire additional skills in business acumen, teamwork and project-oriented working. The MechatronikPlus and E-MobilitätPlus dual study programmes take five years to complete and combine the IHK skilled worker certificate with a Bachelor’s degree. These degree programmes provide you with financial support from renowned companies for the whole duration of the course, as does the 7-semester MechatronikCom study model.

Göppingen campus: everything within easy reach

On the campus in Göppingen, " everything is within easy reach". This applies to the close proximity of laboratories and lecture halls - but in particular to the informal atmosphere between professors, staff and students.

Göppingen is an attractive location with lots on offer for students when lectures have finished. There is the Café Campus, which is run by students, our own campus cinema, a gym and sauna, a climbing group and various other groups such as an orchestra and a gliding group. Modern student accommodation, which is comparatively inexpensive, is available close to the university. A large number of places are available here in cooperation with the Studierendenwerk [V1] Stuttgart (Student Services Organisation).

Information on the town is also available in the "Day & Night" Guide for Göppingen.

One of the best mechatronics faculties in Germany

The Faculty of Mechatronics and Electrical Engineering in Göppingen is among the best in Germany. This is confirmed time and again by independent rankings and surveys of personnel managers.

Mechatronics is at the heart of the teaching in the faculty - this is where the students can specialise and over seven semesters they are thus trained to become engineers whose skills are in great demand and who are well equipped to deal with the challenges facing industrial companies.

Mechatronics is a combination of mechanical engineering, electronics and information technology -and the teaching and research undertaken at Göppingen bring together these three disciplines.
