The video tutorial shows you the most important application steps and the importance of prioritization.
Which criteria are used to award the university places?
There are usually more applications than places available. This means that not all applications for degree programmes will be successful. The places available will be awarded in accordance with the result of the university’s own selection procedure.
We are unable to give details of any admission restrictions (numerus clausus, NC) in advance. The NC states the selection threshold and the waiting time in semesters (periods of 6 months) for the last student in the ranking who is admitted to the degree programme. This means the NC varies depending on the number of applicants, their selection thresholds/waiting times and the number of places available. Since this is different for each application phase, we are unfortunately unable to provide any information about the admission restrictions (NC).
Why do I apply to hochschulstart.de and to the university?
For some of the Bachelor degree programmes at Esslingen, the admission procedure for applications for the first regular semester is via the national application portal Hochschulstart and the “dialog-oriented service procedure - DoSV”, where you can apply for a maximum of 12 university places.
To process your application, the “Application/Admission” team needs all the documents required for the admission procedure at Esslingen. You can upload these online via Esslingen’s HEonline campus management system.
Can I apply although I have not yet received my final certificate?
Yes. You can also apply even though you have not yet received your final certificate.
You can upload your university entrance qualification in Esslingen’s HEonline campus management system until the application deadline at the latest.
What are the advantages of the different study models and how do I apply for them?
You are financially secure and acquire a thorough knowledge of a company while you are still studying.
If you decide to take the “Degree Programme Plus” option, you combine an apprenticeship and a degree programme (leading to a B.Eng. degree) at Esslingen.
With the “degree programme with enhanced phases of practical experience”, you enter into an agreement with one of our partner companies to complete all the practical phases of your programme in that company and work there during the semester break. In return, the company supports you financially while you are studying.
For whom is the study programme suitable?
The degree programme will suit you if you want to do something with technology. Do terms like transistors, charge and Ohm’s law give you a thirst for knowledge? Are you interested in the task of Electrical Engineering within the framework of technical systems? Good prerequisites for a successful entry into Electrical Engineering are also scientific and technical understanding, analytical thinking as well as the fun and perseverance to solve problems.
Study model with integrated practical placement
During my apprenticeship, I was already very interested in Electrical Engineering, which is why I wanted to continue my education in this future-oriented field. I chose Esslingen University of Applied Sciences because my training company offers a study model with an integrated practical placement. Here, the practical phases are spent in the company and, in return, you receive monthly financial support throughout your studies.
