Doctoral College HYBRID - Big Data and Data Mining

The University of Stuttgart, the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences, Daimler AG and Robert Bosch GmbH founded the cooperative doctoral college HYBRID several years ago. This doctoral program is also supported by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts, Baden-Württemberg (MWK). The aim is to jointly advance research into hybrid drives in order to achieve a knowledge lead in this field. A further goal of the MWK is also to increasingly lead master graduates from universities of applied sciences to doctorates.

Even if the tasks come from the field of automotive engineering, detailed knowledge of a hybrid drive train is not necessary. Rather, they are intelligent algorithms for data analysis, based on the methods of artificial intelligence and machine learning that will be implemented in software. New innovations in automotive engineering are always based on software solutions. Just think of current driver assistance systems. These evaluate the sensor data of the vehicle. They support and relieve the driver, for example when parking in a parking space. Software enables convenient parking.
