Vampir licenses in the frame of bwHPC

The Universities of the state of Baden-Württemberg and the Universities of Applied Science (HAWs) cooperating within bwHPC have acquired a 5-year license for the Performance-Analysis Tool Vampir Professional with the support of the Ministry of Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst (MWK).

Vampir allows analysing MPI-, Thread-, OpenCL- and CUDA-parallel applications with a scalable GUI in a very detailed way, uncovering performance problems regarding compute but also the IO of the code.

The bwHPC wiki provides an introduction into the usage in the frame of bwHPC and Score-P-Project. The Score-P Project is a profiling and tracing library with supportive tools.

Die Universitäten des Landes Baden-Württemberg und die in bwHPC kooperierenden Hochschulen haben für die Nutzer des Landes eine 5-jährige Lizenz des Performance Analysetools Vampir Professional mit der Unterstützung des Ministeriums für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst (MWK) beschafft.

Vampir erlaubt es MPI-, Thread-, OpenCL- und CUDA-parallele Programme mit einer skalierbaren GUI sehr detailliert zu analysieren und Performance-Probleme im Compute aber auch im IO-Teil zu analysieren.

Als Einstieg der Beschreibung zur Nutzung im Rahmen von bwHPC dient das bwHPC-Wiki und die Beschreibung des Score-P-Projektes. Das Score-P-Projekt ist eine Bibliothek zur Profilerstellung und Nachverfolgung mit unterstützenden Werkzeugen.
