The purpose of the lab room is to learn and test the fundamentals of computer networks as well as the TCP/IP protocol stack used in the Internet.
 

• Principles and usage of protocols in the Internet
• Implementation and test of networked applications
• Configuration and operation of complex network devices
• Application examples such as LoRaWAN in the Internet-of-Things (IoT)

Practical lab experiments can leverage professional network devices such as switches and routers in several experimental networks that are isolated from the Internet. The infrastructure also enables Cisco Networking Academy courses.
