The University Orchestra has been in existence since 1959. Students, members of the academic staff, and support staff from Esslingen University of Applied Sciences as well as non-affiliated members play in it. The Orchestra performs at University events, such as graduation ceremonies, award ceremonies for special honours, etc. and gives an annual University concert.   

The University Orchestra concert takes place every year on the first Sunday in Advent at 11.00 am in the  Aula of the Hilltop campus. In 2011, the concert will be on Sunday, 27th November.

You are welcome to come along if you play any of the following instruments: strings, woodwind or brass; percussion.

The orchestra is conducted by Steffi Bade-Bräuning.

The graduation ceremony 2010 had a new attraction: the Pep Band. To mark the end of the „Kandelmarsch“, there was a  spirited finale in the Hafenmarkt for the public. It was a cheerful conclusion to this important event. The Esslingen University of Applied Sciences Pep Band was founded for this very reason. The inspiration came from the American football Pep Bands. The more brass and percussion, the more fun!

Are you a percussionist, double bass, woodwind or brass player? Then simply come along! Are you a student, do you work or teach at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences?
Or are you a friend of the University. Then drop in!
Rehearsals in 2011: from 11.01.2011, every week on Tuesday from 19:15 p.m. to 20:45 p.m. in the "Aula" at the Hilltop Campus, Flandernstrasse, 101. 
Programme: classics such as  „Blue Skies“, „Girl from Ipanema“, „Aint Misbehavin'“, „Alexander's Ragtime Band“ etc.

From January, 2011, Esslingen University of Applied Sciences will have a University choir. If you enjoy music, would like to meet new people, and like singing, this could be for you! Choir experience is an advantage, but not essential.

We organise events for the University and will put together programmes of modern and classical pieces for public occasions. Modern pop and jazz arrangements have a place in our repertoire as much as madrigals or classics. 

Our first aim is a performance at the first semester event in the summer semester, 2011. The more singers, the better!
