What are the characteristics of INTAP?

INTAP stands for “International Automotive Engineering Program” and is an attractive exchange program for students from partner universities of the University of Applied Sciences. It aims at giving an overview over methods and topics in Automotive Engineering both through theory (classroom courses) and practise (laboratories, field trips to companies). Characteristics of INTAP are:

  • You join specially designed classes outside the regular University of Applied Sciences study program, i.e.
  • The academic calendar has been adjusted to international standards (September – December).
  • Language of teaching is English.
  • Students come from all over the world, such as Mexico, China, USA which creates a real international atmosphere and enables you to learn not only about German engineering but also from other cultures.
  • You may choose 3 – 5 engineering classes out of the following list. Two mandatory classes, German language and German History & Culture, as well as orientation weeks at the beginning, top off the program helping you to communicate in everyday life and to get a good insight into German culture.
  • The program takes place once a year starting on 1st September.
  • As the number of participants is limited, a special agreement between the University of Applied Sciences and your home university is necessary.

What options do I have?

Depending on the duration of your stay, your fields of interest, academic needs and your home university, the following options are available for you:

INTAP: 4-months study program from 1 September until end of December

INTAP PLUS: full year program comprising 4 months studies from September until December followed by an internship in industry

INTAP PLUS students can do their internship at any time between January and August (as agreed with the company)

How can I apply for INTAP?

INTAP is open for students from partner universities of the University of Applied Sciences who are nominated by their home university for the exchange program, have sufficient command of the English language and at least 3 semesters background in engineering (preferably Mechanical or Automotive Engineering).
