First Information - Programs and Application
Thank you very much for your interest in studying at our university “Hochschule Esslingen - University of Applied Sciences”. We would like to inform you about the different options of studying in Esslingen to ensure that you can send your application and inquiries to the appropriate contact person.
Applicants for Undergraduate Studies
International applicants holding a foreign high school diploma (except from EU countries) who would like to pursue undergraduate studies at a university of applied sciences (Fachhochschule) in Baden-Württemberg have to apply first at the Ausländerstudienkolleg in Konstanz (ASK):

This institution checks the equivalence of foreign high school diplomas, offers preacademic preparation courses for international students (if necessary) and issues a certificate for admission (Zugangsberechtigung). With this certificate, you can apply at the Admission Office at the Hochschule Esslingen. Each university will individually decide which student will be accepted.

Applicants from EU countries can apply directly at the Admissions Office (Zulassungsamt) of Hochschule Esslingen. They have to provide certified copies of all diplomas (high school or any other institution). The certificate of the German language test DSH or TestDAF must be submitted before enrollment.

Special procedure for applicants from China

With the certificate of the APS you can apply at the Ausländerstudienkolleg in Konstanz (further steps are the same as for all foreign students, see above).
Exchange Programme Application
Students from partner universities can apply as exchange students in undergraduate exchange programmes for 1 or 2 semesters. Summer semester is from 1 March - 31 August, winter semester from 1 September - 28 February. Please note that most of our regular undergraduate classes are taught in German. Therefore, we recommend German language proficiency at a level equivalent of Grundstufe III or Mittelstufe I of Goethe Institute for our standard programmes called “STIPUS”. Besides, most faculties offer a range of lectures taught in English. For more information about the English taught courses please consult the following web page English taught courses!
In any case, students have to apply through the coordinator of the International Office of their home university. They can provide you with information about deadlines, application documents etc.
Individual Application “Free Movers”
Free Movers are students from universities without bilateral exchange agreements with Hochschule Esslingen. They may apply for studying at the Hochschule for 1 or 2 semesters and choose from a range of the undergraduate courses of studies offered by the faculties. Free Movers have to pay tuition fees.

Applicants for Graduate Studies
The Graduate School of the Hochschule Esslingen currently offers one MBA and two MSc courses which are taught in English. An application for these courses is only possible if students have completed a bachelor’s degree in a related field. For further information please see the web site of the Graduate School.
