Progress in information technology has also affected social and nursing sciences. Computers today are not simply glorified typewriters but comprise a comprehensive communications medium and information and data-processing technology. However, their broad range of uses and applications also increase risk in areas where individuality and self-determination are to be maintained and protected.

The qualified and safe use of information technology is therefore an important topic in teaching, studying and research in the Faculty. The different computer pools for Faculty members are supervised by staff who are also competent to address these aspects.
