Natural Sciences

Welcome to the website of the Faculty of Natural Sciences. Our faculty offers two Bachelor's degree courses.

In the CHE Ranking Tables,  the Bachelor's degree program in Chemical Engineering/Colour & Coatings achieved very good grades in the assessment criteria: General Student Evaluation, E-learning and Laboratory Space and Equipment. This degree program trains highly qualified chemical engineers  who have excellent career opportunities in the area of colour and coatings.

Since winter semester 2003/2004 there has been a second Bachelor's degree program: Biotechnology. This was initiated through a joint project with the city of Esslingen and the Life Science Center which is situated here, and is tailored to fit the requirements of the job market and surrounding companies. For this degree program, four completely new laboratories were established and affiliated to the Faculty of Natural Sciences.

It is also possible to take a specialist Master's degree in two subjects at the Faculty. The Master's degree program (M.Sc.) Applied Surface and Material Sciences was first taught in the summer semester of 2009 in co-operation with Aalen University of Applied Sciences. It is oriented towards anyone who wishes to extend his/her academic knowledge in the area of surface technology.

In a further co-operative model with Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences (Economics and the Environment), Reutlingen University of Applied Sciences and Stuttgart University, there is the Master's degree program Environmental Protection.
