Automotive Electronics
Graduates selecting the elective track “Automotive Electronics” will be qualified for professions in the following domains:
Development, conceptual design, technical layout and implementation of electronic components in industry and automotive companies as well as their suppliers
Specific fields of work:
- Conceptual design, technical layout, implementation and commissioning of control networks in the vehicle focussing on automotive requirements, communication protocols, network configuration, standardised interfaces and low-level implementation.
- Development, support and testing of control units and communication systems in advanced development, development and production run (e.g. simulation and testing with CANoe).
- EMC-compatible development of control units, test systems, semiconductor devices and modules.
- Bus systems for in-vehicle networks (LIN, CAN, MOST, FlexRay).
- Circuit design (analogue, digital, FPGA programming, HW/SW Co-design)
- Real-time operating system standards for motor vehicles (e.g. OSEK)
- Development and production of high-reliable printed circuit boards and thick-film hybrids for automotive use.
Fields of Work
Therefore, graduates are employed wherever electronic components as well as the appropriate software, devices, systems and machine products are developed, produced, checked, operated or tested:
