Specialisation Software Engineering

How is the Software Engineering and Media Informatics study course with a specialisation in Software Engineering structured?

The Software Engineering and Media Informatics study course takes seven semesters. In the first four semesters you will receive broad and well-founded training in the field of Information Technology. This basic training enables you to complete the subsequent practical semester successfully in industry and to work on projects as member of a team. In the sixth semester you decide to specialise in either Software Engineering or Media Technology. In this semester you will acquire expert knowledge which will later make you into an expert in Software Engineering.
In the final seventh semester you will conduct your Bachelor thesis project, which you usually carry out in industry.
Throughout the whole study programme you will also acquire all the necessary additional interdisciplinary skills and will learn methods which enable you to work as an engineer.

The course contents of the three study programmes Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering and Software Engineering and Media Informatics are identical up to the fourth semester. This fact gives you the particular advantage that a smooth change between the study programmes is granted for as long as possible.
