Communications Engineering

Important note: From winter semester 2012/13 a registration to communication technology is not possible any more.

How is the study course Communications Engineering structured?

The Communications Engineering study course takes seven semesters. In the first four semesters you will receive broad and well-founded training in the field of Information Technology. This basic training enables you to complete the subsequent practical semester successfully in industry and to work on projects as member of a team. In the sixth semester you will acquire expert knowledge which will later make you into an expert in Communications Engineering. In the final seventh semester you will conduct your Bachelor thesis project, which you usually carry out in industry. Throughout the whole study course you will also acquire all the necessary additional interdisciplinary skills and will learn methods which enable you to work as an engineer.

The course contents of the three study programmes Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering and Software Engineering and Media Informatics are identical up to the fourth semester. This fact gives you the particular advantage that a smooth change between the study programmes is granted for as long as possible.
