It was great to see you all at the Graduate School Barbeque!

Last Thursday, drinks and food were carted in, tents were set up and the lower court was cleared for this year's barbeque. The tent was not needed, the weather held, and it was a great afternoon!

Starting at 6 pm, alumni, students, professors and staff gathered together outside the Graduate School. The party kicked off with the presentation of the ITK Prize to our ASM student Madhavan Gopalan. Mr Stephan Hintsch from ITK Engineering GmbH was there to present the prize, which is given for outstanding academic achievement. Madhavan has won a two-day visit to the company ITK, where he will be able to test drive racing cars. Congratulations - this is a fabulous prize for an automotive engineering student to win!

The atmosphere was cosy, and the mood was great as more than 100 guests ate, chatted and sang together.

Dr. Weise once again provided most of the musical entertainment, with Dr. Berkemer backing up on the keyboard and trumpet. They were sometimes accompanied by our guest singers: Head of Social Services Sara Pohl, MBA student Husam Taha and the members of a theatre group that happened to be rehearsing nearby and felt like a musical break all contributed to the entertainment!

Many thanks to the students manning the grill, Jorge Patino Taborda, Luis Tendon Santos, and Abraham Barrera Vallalpando, who did a fabulous job of keeping everyone fed! Thanks to all of you who contributed to making this a great evening, and many thanks to all who came, it was great to see you!
