American Summer School in Esslingen

In a few days, 17 students from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, will arrive in Esslingen, along with three American professors. They have been invited to attend a one-month summer school at the Esslingen Graduate School.

The summer school gives students the opportunity to attend lectures by American and German professors, guest lectures and discussions, labs and get-togethers with Esslingen students. They will also be able to go on excursions to companies in the Stuttgart area, as well as on trips and to cultural events.

The summer school runs from 9 May to 2 June, and was organised by Graduate School Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Flad in cooperation with his American colleague Prof. Andy Borchers. Dr. Borchers is very much at home here in Esslingen, as he has been a guest lecturer in the Graduate School for many years.

Esslingen's Management Education for Engineers

The MBA is Esslingen's Management program for engineers. It is geared towards international students and employees from companies in the greater Stuttgart area.

Dr. Flad is very positive about the many possibilities of the summer school: "This visit from America is highly beneficial for our university. Not only are we gaining new contacts at this American university, but we are also giving our German and international students completely new impressions. They get to know the visiting American students and have the possibility to enter into interesting discussions with them on all sorts of topics, whether these be social or political, about current affairs such as Brexit or the diesel affair."

Almost 70 International Partner Universities

Esslingen University places great value on the international education of its students. The university has exchange programs with almost 70 international universities throughout the world. Seven of these are in America.
