The MEng in Automotive Systems was accredited in 2007 by Die Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik e.V. (ASIIN)

Zeit Study Guide 2010/2011, published 4 May 2010, awarded the Esslingen UAS Faculties of Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, and Mechatronics and Electrical Engineering top scores.

"Grouped first of all were Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics in the areas of general study situation, student guidance, laboratories and the professional reputation of their professors. The Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Walter Czarnetzki, commented the very high student appraisals: "We want to give our students a comprehensive, scientific degree which is also highly practically-oriented. I am very pleased that our efforts are appreciated.""
