Quality management in the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences

Reaching and maintaining high standards of teaching, research and service is a central goal of our university. We are constantly striving to improve our structure, qualification and processes. Our central, in-house quality management has seven main areas of activity.

The Central Study Commission is responsible for all aspects regarding our primary goal, teaching:

  • the further development of the Study and Examination Regulations,
  • the evaluation of teaching and research and
  • didactics and advanced training.

The Quality Commission is responsible for all other areas:

  • the strategic and structural development of the university,
  • the continuing improvement process in teaching, research and administration,
  • the support and assistance to the employees and
  • the accreditation of our programs.

Both commissions conduct regular checks in order systematically to detect weaknesses. They then implement measures of improvement.

Quality management in the Esslingen Graduate School

In order to ensure that the high quality of our programs is maintained, quality management methods have been established throughout the Graduate School. Central to this is the feedback given by our students each year, and the impulses gained thereby for the further development of our programs, teaching, and support.

Evaluations and feedback talks

Students give us a written feedback of all courses approximately half-way through each semester. The evaluation of this feedback is undertaken by our Didactics Centre   and serves as a feedback for each individual professor. The results are then discussed with the students.

Accreditation

Each program is regularly accredited   by an independent institution.
