Aims and contents

In accordance with § 4: para. 4 of the Study and Examinations Regulations, the practical placement/internship is intended to provide students with practical experience and knowledge to complement their studies, in the fields in which graduates in information technology or engineering management can expect to work. 

The following conditions apply to the practical placement/internship:

• The fifth semester of the degree program is a practical semester.
• Students must be present at their practical placement/internship for at least 100 working days.
• Companies suitable for the practical placement/internship must have at least 50 employees.
• The practical placement/internship must be registered at the practical placements/internships office for the relevant degree program. Students should do this by filling out the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences  form (on the University website). The deadline for registering the practical placement/internship is the first day of lectures of the practical semester at the latest. 

All practical placements/internships must be agreed by the head of the practical placements/internships office if the company does not clearly fulfill the above requirements. Filling out the practical placment/internship registration form is not a substitute for this.

• All students are to write a report on their pratical placement/internship.
