Advanced Training

E-learning is becoming more and more important in the area of professional training:

• Students can download scripts and laboratory practicals on the use of management systems via the browser at any time.
• Training videos, e.g. software applications, can also be made available as a backup to taught courses.
• Handing in laboratory journals and projects via the e-learning platform is simple and saves paper, money and time. The platform also provides a sophisticated evaluation and correction system.
• Students can use forums to discuss current problems and topics. This means that the entire group is kept informed about what is going on.

The system currently being used at Esslingen and by the Faculty of Engineering Management is Moodle (open source).
This has been used to back up teaching since winter semester 2009. The first impressions have been generally positive, so that it is intended to continue to use Moodle over a longer period of time.
