Master's degree program in Energy and Facility Management

Increasing energy costs and climate change are making it more and more important to plan, build and run extremely efficient energy supply networks which take into account technical, economic and ecological factors. This requires experts who are able to understand and think in terms of the complex  interrelationships between the energy systems within buildings. Topics include project management and company management, energy and heating systems with sustainable, central and decentralised energy supply systems, plant simulations, automation systems, process management and facility management; furthermore, specialist areas such as  the supply of high-purity media, clean-room technology and plant-specific fire prevention are also adressed. This is complemented by independent study and presentations on two projects to be selected from a range of topics. The Master's Thesis is written in the third semester: this takes the form of an advanced investigation into a scientific subject, either in an industrial setting or at the University of Applied Sciences. 

The team of academic staff involved in the Master's degree program is comprised of highly motivated university teachers who value practically oriented training, retain close contact to the most important new developments in companies over the whole world, and have specialised in research topics for many years. The teaching is complemented by experts from co-operating companies who deal with special topics drawn from current problems and questions from day-to-day practice.
