Modules - Major Software Based Automotive Systems

Study overview

First semester

The first semester provides courses in Mathematical Methods in Engineering, in Systems Design and Simulation and Control. These modules of the first semester are:
Mathematical Methods in Engineering: Numerical Linear Algebra, Numerical Analysis, Lab FEM
System Design: Automotive Systems and Software Architectures, Automotive Systems Development Process and System Test
Simulation and Control 1: Basic Control, Advanced Control, Lab and Simulation Control
According to the background knowledge and degree of students they have additionally to choose one of the following tow modules:
Vehicles Technology or Electronics, Sensors and Measurement Technology

Second semester

All students have the same modules in the beginning as following:

Simulation and Control 2:
• Drive-Train Modelling and Simulation
• Ride Comfort Modelling and Simulation
• Automotive Controller Development Methods
• Lab Computer Simulation and Modelling

Team Project

Then students will have the modules according to the major they choose according to their background.

major: “Software Based Automotive Systems”
Automotive Communications: Onboard and Offboard Communication Systems, Man-Machine-Interactions (MMI)
Reliable Embedded Systems: Safety and Security, Selected Topics on Real-Time Systems

Third semester: Master`s Thesis

In their final Thesis, students demonstrate the full extent of their scientific and practical engineering knowledge of a scientific subject. Master`s theses
can be performed individually or in a team, either at University or, preferably, within a company.
Besides there will be a training in soft-skills.
