STIPUS/ERASMUS and STIPUS/GLOBAL

STIPUS stands for “Standard International Programs for Undergraduate Students” and is a collective term for a number of attractive exchange programs for students from Hochschule Esslingen's partner universities. STIPUS/ERASMUS is the well-known European exchange program and as such opened for students from partner universities who have signed an ERASMUS agreement with Hochschule Esslingen. STIPUS/GLOBAL is an almost identical program for students from partner universities with bilateral student exchange agreements outside ERASMUS.

 

What is STIPUS?

Characteristics of STIPUS are:
  • Join classes of the regular University of Applied Sciences study program
  • Study together with German classmates
  • Language of teaching is German or English
  • Spend one or two full semesters in Esslingen at the University of Applied Sciences and take part in regular activities and exams
  • Choose your courses from the whole range of undergraduate departments at the University of Applied Sciences
  • Start either on 1st March (summer semester) or on 1st September (winter semester), as all STIPUS programs take place during both semester
  • Orientation weeks, German language classes on various levels and a History & Culture class with excursions to places of interest will help you to feel comfortable and get a good insight into German culture

Study possibilities

Depending on the duration of your stay, your fields of interest and the academic needs of your home university, the following options are available for you:
  • ERASMUS 1/GLOBAL 1: one semester study program
  • ERASMUS 2/GLOBAL 2: full year study program
  • ERASMUS PLUS/GLOBAL PLUS: full year program comprising one semester studies followed by one semester internship/final thesis

How can I apply for STIPUS?

STIPUS is open for students from partner universities of the University of Applied Sciences who are nominated by their home university for the exchange program and have sufficient command of the German or the English language.

Further information about the program, application procedure, application forms etc. are available from the International Office/Coordinator of your home university. If you are not sure who your coordinator is, please contact us!

Application deadlines: 30th May for winter semester, 30th November for summer semester
