Faculties

An overview of our faculties:
Please see our German webpages for detailed information:

Automotive Engineering
In the Faculty of Engineering, the first three semesters are spent learning the basics in automotive technology. Then the students choose between four different areas of concentration: engine, car body design, mechatronics and service. The study programmes were developed with close attention to the needs of the automotive industry for competent team-oriented engineers. For more details please see our German webpages.

Basic Sciences
The Faculty of Basic Sciences has two tasks: The professors teach all students of all faculties in physics and mathematics. Preparatory courses in mathematics for new students are organised and taught by the faculty before the semester begins. The faculty provides an extensive teaching training programme in these basic subjects. The faculty also offers a new study programme in Teaching Engineering, both for a Bachelor’s or a Master’s title. In this study programme, students gain additional qualifications in education and didactics. For more details please see our German webpages.

Building services, energy and environmental engineering
Engineers in building services, energy and environmental technology are not only in demand at the energy and water supply companies but also in the areas of heating, climate, sanitary and regulation technology, in facility management and in the disposal and environmental sector. This technology opens interesting and innovative possibilities in industry and trade, in households and public institutions. Today, the knowledge in this area is sought after more and more. For more details please see our German webpages.

Graduate School
The Graduate School is the home of three Master programmes which are taught in English:
International Industrial Management with the title of a Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Automotive Engineering with the title of Master of Science (MSc)
Information Technology and Automation Systems with the title of Master of Science.
The concentrated knowledge of five faculties – management, automotive engineering, information technology, mechanical engineering and mechatronics and electrical engineering – has been gathered here. The Graduate School also supports the international students in all aspects of study and living.

Information Technology
The Faculty of Information Technology offers three study programmes: Communications Engineering, Software Engineering and Media Informatics, as well as Computer Engineering. After spending four semesters learning the basics in the areas of engineering, natural sciences and information technology, the students choose between different modules in the sixth and seventh semesters. For more details please see our German webpages.

Management
The study programmes of the Faculty of Management focuses not only on management but also on technology. The faculty trains students to become future international technical managers, business engineers and business information managers. In their future jobs, the students should provide a bridge between management and production. Therefore they are in demand in trade and industry. For more details please see our German webpages.

Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical engineering in the Stuttgart Region gives strong impulses for innovation and progress - even measured in European dimensions. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences resides exactly in that field of force. Since the early beginnings of industrialization it supplies a lot of companies with outstanding educated engineers. This faculty, having a great past and future alike, is characterized by four features: competence, innovation, ranks on top, and the awareness of tradition. It is your choice to study “Mechanical Engineering” in the courses “Development and Design” or “Development and Production”.

Mechatronics and Electrical Engineering
The Faculty of Mechatronics and Electrical Engineering is distinguished by a high practical orientation and a close cooperation with the industry. In the laboratories which are unparalleled compared to other universities of applied sciences, research and development projects are carried out. The study programmes comprise the following areas: Mechatronics / Automation Systems, Mechatronics /Electrical Engineering and Mechatronics /Precision and Micro Technology. In the study programme MechatronicPlus, you first finish your apprenticeship as a mechatronic technician, before you study in the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electrical Engineering. Since you have a contract in your pocket, you do not need to worry about your finances. For more details please see our German webpages.

Natural Sciences
The faculty combines expertise in biochemistry, microbiology, cellular biology, application technology, organic and anorganic chemistry, coating technology, design and environmental protection for its Bachelor programmes in biotechnology and chemical engineering / colour-coating-environment and for its Master programme environmental engineering. For more details please see our German webpages.
